Drug Formulation
2 liang of yellow丹 (roast in a silver cauldron until it turns purple; pour onto a clean surface and allow to cool), half a liang of sodium nitrate (ground), and 4 liang of white sand honey.

Processing
Combine the above ingredients with the roasted Huangdan in a silver or stone vessel and simmer until the volume is reduced to one qing. Allow to cool, then filter the liquid through two layers of fresh cotton. Simmer the residue again until it forms a paste, and store it in a clean bottle.

Instructions for Use
For each use, dissolve one soapberry larger than the size of the clean vessel in hot water. First, use the medicine to fumigate the eyes; once the water has cooled to a warm temperature, wash the eyes more than 10 times, then go to sleep. Reserve the remaining medicine for 3–5 more uses.
