Drug Formulation

5 qian of Asparagus root, 5 qian of Ophiopogon tuber, 5 qian of Raw Rehmannia root, 5 qian of Prepared Rehmannia root, 5 qian of Ligusticum root, 5 qian of Acanthopanax bark, 5 qian of Achyranthes root, 5 qian of Gentiana root, 3 qian of Cinnamomum twig.

Processing

Place the ingredients in a silk bag; add 20 jin of Fen wine, 1 jin each of pure white honey, red sugar, and rice vinegar; stir well; steep in a porcelain jar; seal the opening with tofu skin; weigh down with a large brick; place in a pot of water and steam for 3 incense sticks’ worth of time; remove and bury in the ground for 7 days; it is then ready to drink.
