Drug Formulation

Mutton (of the finest quality, with tendons and membranes removed) 1.5 jin (sliced like willow leaves; mix sulfur powder into the meat; soak in 1 dou of good vinegar in a silver or stone vessel for one fu-shi; simmer over low heat until it becomes a paste; pound in a mortar 1,000 times), sulfur (drip with raw licorice water, grind for 3 days until extremely fine; allow to dry, then mix into the meat) half liang,Fenugreek half liang, Piper longum half liang, Agarwood (chopped) half liang, Morinda officinalis (core removed) 1 liang, Psoralea corylifolia (roasted) 1 liang, Achyranthes root 1 liang, Cistanche deserticola (soaked in wine with Achyranthes root, sliced, and roasted) 1 liang,1 liang of sea-grape bark (crushed), 1 liang of cinnamon bark (with coarse outer bark removed), 1 liang of white Poria (with black outer skin removed), 1 liang of licorice (roasted, chopped), 1 liang of ginseng, 1 fen of cloves, 3 pieces of nutmeg (shelled), and 2 pieces of aconite root (roasted until cracked, with skin and pith removed; use large pieces).

Processing

Grind all the herbs except the mutton into a fine powder. Mix thoroughly with mutton fat until uniform, then pound with a pestle over a thousand times. Form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 20 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine. Increase the dose to 30 pills if necessary.
