Drug Formulation

1 liang of green salt (ground), 2 liang of almonds (peeled and de-tipped) (lightly roasted, ground to a fine paste, mixed with a small amount of hot water until smooth, wrapped in cloth, pressed to extract the oil, and used to coat chicken eggshells).

Processing

For the above two ingredients, use a copper basinwith a diameter of 1 chi, add oil and salt, take a handful of green willow branches as thick as chopsticks, tie them tightly together, trim the ends evenly, and grind them until the mixture resembles thick ink. Then, dig a pit in the ground, place a tile at the bottom of the pit, take a piece of dried mugwort the size of a goose egg, place it on the tile, and burn it. Immediately place the basin containing the medicine over the opening of the pit and fumigate it with the smoke.Once the fire has died down and the medicine is ready, store it in a dry, non-porous container.

Instructions for Use

Apply it to the outer corners of the eyes every night before going to bed; repeat frequently until cured.
