Drug Formulation

2 liang of Poria cocos peel, 1 liang of Plantain seed, 1 liang of Areca nut peel (washed with water), 1 liang of Akebia stem, 1 liang of Akebia vine, 1 liang of Coix seed (roasted), 1.5 liang of Celastus vine, 1.5 liang of Mulberry bark, 1.5 liang of Prunus mume seed,1.5 liang of winter melon seeds (roasted), 1.5 liang of wood fragrant (removed from the pod and dried), 8 qian of red cinnabar, 8 qian of sweet shepherd’s purse (mixed with black dates and steamed), 1 liang of large apricot kernels (remove skin, tip, and double kernels; roast until slightly blackened; pound separately), 1.5 liang of angelica root (remove the root stalk; wash with wine).

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; use genuine lotus root starch to form a paste and make pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 30 pills per dose, gradually increasing to 50–60 pills; take with warm wine before meals; if the patient does not normally drink alcohol, take with lightly salted water.
