Drug Formulation

Chuanxiong 1 liang, Tiannansheng (soaked in hot water 7 times) 1 liang, Gansong 1 liang, Xiangbaizhi 1 liang, Huoxiangye (washed to remove soil) 1 liang, Xiangfuzi (hairs removed, stir-fried) 1 liang, Niuxi (root base removed, soaked in wine) 1 liang,Platycodon (roasted) 1 liang, Fangfeng (root removed) 1 liang, Fennel (rinsed to remove sand, roasted) 1 liang,Qianghuo 1 liang, Gaoben 1 liang, Ma Huang (knots removed) 1 liang, Dang Gui (root base removed, soaked in wine) 1 liang, Cao Wutou 1.5 liang (whole, peel and tip removed), Da Chuan Wu 1.5 liang (whole, peel and tip removed), Gan Cao 4 liang (raw), Jing Jie Spikes 2 liang, Shigao half jin (raw).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; form into pills using glutinous rice paste, making each pill weigh 3 qian and a half.

Benefits

For left-sided paralysis and right-sided weakness; or numbness in one hand and loss of sensation in one foot; or hemiplegia; a crooked mouth; a swollen throat; sores on the feet; ringing in the ears; or swollen eyes.

Instructions for Use

Divide each pill into 4 doses: for headaches, chew and swallow with peppermint wine; for a constricted throat, take with ginger and peppermint wine; for women with long-standing paralysis due to blood wind, take with black bean wine (roast black beans until cooked, pour wine over them, remove the beans, and use only the wine); for bone injuries, take with frankincense wine; for sores on the feet, take with papaya wine; for ringing in the ears, take with braised pork kidney wine;for swollen eyes, dissolve in chrysanthemum wine. For children, each pill is divided into 8 doses. For paralysis caused by wind, first take the Qi-Regulating Powder, then this medicine; for cases of paralysis lasting 3–5 days, taking it yields particularly rapid and effective results.
