Formulas Name : Heart-Protecting Elixir

Chinese Name : 护心仙丹

Drug Formulation

Rhubarb 1 liang, Myrrh 3 qian, Beeswax 1 liang, Rosin 5 qian, Frankincense 3 qian, Dipsacus asper 5 qian, Angelica sinensis 1 liang, Panax notoginseng root 3 qian, Decayed turtle shell 1 liang, Musk 5 fen.

Processing

Grind each of the above herbs into a fine powder. Take 1 liang of lard; melt the beeswax and colophony together with the lard in a copper pot, then mix in the powders evenly to form a paste.

Instructions for Use

Apply the ointment and wrap it with oiled paper. For mild cases, one application is sufficient; for severe cases, two applications are sufficient; for cases involving a splint, no more than four applications are needed.
