Drug Formulation

Prepared Rehmannia Root (steamed with wine; pounded into a paste just before use; avoid contact with iron) 5 liang, Achyranthes Root (stem removed, washed with wine) 4 liang, Astragalus Root (split open, thoroughly moistened with honey water and roasted) 4 liang, Schisandra Berry (pitted) 2 liang, Rubus Fruit 4 liang, Lycium Bark (bones removed) 4 liang,White Poria (peeled) 4 liang, White Tribulus (pounded separately, cleaned, and stir-fried) 4 liang, Peach Kernels (skinned and tips removed) 4 liang, Walnut Kernels (soaked in warm water, skinned) 5 liang, Dodder Seeds 5 liang (first washed with water, then mixed with fine wine; when half-moist, shaped into cakes, baked dry, and ground into powder).

Processing

Except for the walnut kernels, peach kernels, and prepared Rehmannia root, pound the remaining ingredients into a paste. Grind the rest of the herbs into a fine powder, mix it with the paste, then add refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50–70 pills per dose, washed down with good wine in the morning and evening, or occasionally with salted water.

Note

Avoid scallions, garlic, and radishes.
