Drug Formulation

Whole Cimicifuga root 2 liang, Fangba (i.e., Trichosanthes seed) 5 qian, whole Chuanxiong 5 qian, whole Angelica sinensis 2 liang, Angelica dahurica 5 qian, Notopterygium root 5 qian.

Processing

Decoct the above herbs in 1 jin of hemp seed oil until the herbs are completely dried out; remove the dregs and decoct again until the mixture thickens to the point where a drop of liquid forms a bead. Stir thoroughly with a mulberry branch, add cinnabar (increase the amount in summer) to form a paste, then immerse in water to remove the fire toxicity.
