Drug Formulation
5 large river snails (shells removed; threaded with a string and sun-dried), 1 qian 2 fen of white arsenic (wrapped in flour and baked until cooked), 1 fen of borneol, 2 fen of realgar.

Processing
Slice the sun-dried snail meat and roast it until cooked; grind the white arsenic into a fine powder, add realgar and borneol, and grind again; store tightly in a small jar.
Benefits
For chronic scrofula with hard, persistent nodules that do not resolve, as well as cases where dissipating medications have proven ineffective; for goiters of all sizes; and for various protrusions of unusual shapes that are difficult to describe; and for breast cancer.
Instructions for Use
Before use, first apply 7 moxa cones to the nodule; subsequently, moxa until blisters form on the lesion, then prick them open with a small needle. Mix 1–2 li of the aforementioned medicine with saliva to form a paste, and apply it over the moxa site. Seal the nodule with thickly pasted cotton paper to prevent air leakage. After 7 days, cracks will appear around the edges; after another 7 days, the nodule will fall off on its own. Replace with Yu Hong Ointment and take tonic herbs internally to aid in wound healing.
Note
This formula is contraindicated for conditions such as a horse-sword root that is thick at the base and narrow at the tip, or for cases of tissue atrophy.
