Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of Wu Zhuyu (washed in boiling water, baked, and stir-fried), 1 liang of Shi Zhuyu,Cornus officinalis 1 liang, Aconite root (roasted until cracked, peel and pith removed) half a liang, Dried ginger (roasted) half a liang, Sulfur (ground) half a liang, Aged tangerine peel (soaked in boiling water, white pith removed, baked) half a liang, Green tangerine peel (soaked in boiling water, white pith removed, baked) 1 liang, Yu Yuliang (calcined over charcoal until red) 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take one fresh pig’s stomach; first mix the powdered medicine thoroughly with vinegar, then stuff it into the pig’s stomach and sew it closed. Simmer in 1 dou of water over alternating high and low heat until thoroughly tender. Grind the mixture in a sand pot until smooth, then form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 20 pills per dose on an empty stomach before meals, washed down with salted water; warm wine may also be used.
