Weilingxian, Huangbai, Zhizi, Lianqiao, Huanglian, Manjingzi, Da Huang, Huang Shen, Jingjie, Bohe, Jili, and Niubang—each in equal parts.

Processing
Grind the ingredients into a powder. Take half a jin of clear oil and simmer over low heat until the dregs turn black; discard the dregs. Once the oil has solidified, add 1 liang and a half of beeswax,1 liang of white beeswax. Once melted, pour into a porcelain vessel. While still hot, add the following finely ground ingredients: calcined dragon bone, dragon’s blood, catechu, mercuric oxide, frankincense, myrrh, white angelica root, realgar, camphor, silver beads, mercury, and musk—all in equal parts. Stir thoroughly, seal, and store for future use.
