Formulas Name : Jin Cao Dan

Chinese Name : 金草丹

Drug Formulation

1 fen of imported sulfur (finely ground), 1 fen of cinnabar in granules (finely ground), 1.5 qian of wood fragrant (powdered), 2 qian each of mercury and talcum powder, 3 qian of Sichuan rhubarb (roasted over low heat until tender, then crushed), and 10 or 12 seeds of croton (husk and core removed, ground to a powder).

Processing

Combine all ingredients in a mortar and grind 200–300 times until a fine powder is obtained. Mix with wine and steamed buns to form pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

For treating various ailments, take 3–5 pills per dose, washed down with a decoction of fresh ginger and tangerine peel; for indigestion caused by excessive alcohol or food, take 2–3 pills per dose, washed down with hot water or tea.
