Drug Formulation

7 lettuce roots, 7 leek roots, 1 clove of garlic, 1 liang of yellow orpiment, and 1 qian of musk.

Processing

First, grind the three roots and the garlic into a fine paste; then add the yellow丹 and musk, and grind again until extremely fine. Store in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air. Prepare this mixture very early each day at noon.

Instructions for Use

For children suffering from malnutrition, wrap a string around the foot—on the left for boys and the right for girls—measuring from the heel to the tip of the big toe. Then, tie the string in a double knot at the starting point and mark the length. Apply the medicine paste using a paper flower, and when the paste dries, immediately mix fresh garlic into the powder and reapply it. Additionally, prepare paper flowers from cold-food flour to cover the medicine, preventing it from shifting.If a child’s breath smells sweet, wrap their head in soapy cloth; thousands of malnutrition worms—as fine as broken hairs—will emerge and appear on the cloth, which is a sign of the treatment’s effectiveness. If the child eats raw rice, the worms will be expelled through diarrhea.
