Processing

Scrape the old ginger peel into a cauldron and simmer it over a moderate to low flame; do not let it boil vigorously. A cauldron that is particularly greasy is best; there is no need to wash or scrape it. Simply place the ginger peel in the cauldron, seal it tightly to prevent air from entering, and have a meticulous person tend to it. Begin simmering before dawn, maintaining a gentle heat—do not let the fire burn too fiercely. If the person tiring, immediately have someone else take over watching the fire. It will be ready after one fu.Place the mixture in a porcelain bowl and grind it into a very fine powder.

Instructions for Use

To use, dip the tip of a small hairpin into the powder until it holds a amount the size of a sesame seed. First, apply a small dot of the medicine to the base of a white hair, then pull it out.
