Drug Formulation

Elm bark (take a deep, thick root; peel off the red outer layer to reveal the pink inner layer; remove the pith; slice thinly; and dry in an oven) 1 liang; talc 1 liang; myrrh half a qian (ground); angelica root 1 fen (remove the root stalk, wash, and slice); cinnabar half a qian (ground separately).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; then add the cinnabar and grind again until thoroughly mixed.

Instructions for Use

Take 2 da qian per dose, boil in 7 fen of water until it boils 2–3 times; this may only be taken after the ninth month of pregnancy. If labor pains begin, take it according to the same method.

Note

After taking this medicine, avoid climbing heights or using the outhouse.
