Chinese Name : 桑枝酸枣仁煎

Drug Formulation

3 liang of jujube seeds (half stir-fried until fragrant and cooked, half used raw), 1 liang of antelope horn shavings, 2 liang of sea-tung bark (chopped), 2 liang of notopterygium, 1 liang of epimedium, 1 liang of red arrowroot,1 liang of Smilax glabra (chopped), 1 liang of Eucommia ulmoides (coarse bark removed, lightly roasted until pale yellow, chopped), 1.5 liang of tiger shin bone (coated with ghee and roasted until yellow), 1 liang of Saposhnikovia divaricata (root tip removed), 1.5 liang of Dendrobium nobile (roots removed, chopped), 1 liang of Achyranthes bidentata (stems removed), 1 liang of Morinda officinalis,1 liang of Aconite (roasted until cracked, with skin and pith removed), 1 liang of Frankincense, 1 liang of Raw Rehmannia, 4 liang of honey, 1 liang of genuine butter, and 1 handful of mulberry twigs (1 chi long, chopped).

Processing

Except for the ghee, honey, and mulberry branches, grind all the ingredients into a powder. Use 7 sheng of clear wine; first decoct the mulberry branches until the liquid turns slightly yellow. Remove the branches, then add the powdered herbs and decoct for another 10–20 boils. Next, add the ghee and honey, and simmer until it becomes a paste. Adjust the consistency to the desired thickness, then transfer to a porcelain container.

Take 1 teaspoon per dose, mixed with warm wine before meals.
