Drug Formulation

2 fen of realgar; half liang of cold-water stone (burn over high heat until thoroughly red-hot, quench in good wine 5–7 times, then remove); 1 dafen of mithra; 1 dafen of starch; 1 fen of borneol; 1 dafen of mercury (place the starch in a bowl, grind it together with the mercury, and gradually add drops of water until it resembles milk); half liang of pinellia (scald once with hot wine, then soak in ginger juice overnight).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Use fresh ginger juice to cook a wheat-starch paste, then form it into pills the size of mung beans. Coat the pills with finely ground cinnabar.
