Drug Formulation

1 liang of white alum (calcined), 1 liang of green alum, 2 qian of gall alum, 1 dried toad (gutted and roasted), 1 fen of belladonna seeds, 1 fen of shepherd’s purse (roasted),4 snails (place the above 7 ingredients in a jar, seal with salt and mud, allow to dry, burn until red-hot, remove, and grind into a fine powder), 1 fen of Hu Huanglian, 3 raw snails (ground), 1 qian of musk (ground), 1 qian of cinnabar (ground), 1 qian of realgar (ground), 1 qian of ox bile (ground), 2 qian of bear bile (ground),2 qian of chela bark, 2 qian of Asarum (stems and leaves removed), and half a qian of indigo powder.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder, mix thoroughly, and form into pills the size of a sesame seed using roasted millet rice.
