Processing

Grind each of the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder according to the specified proportions. On the Day of the Dragon Boat Festival, at the hour of Chen, prepare the mixture. Wait until the hour of Wu, then mix the nine medicinal ingredients into the toad venom paste. Roll the mixture into pills facing the sun, each the size of a mustard seed, and dry them in the sun within one hour. Place 27 grains of Sichuan pepper and 27 segments of lamp wick together with the medicine in a porcelain jar to cure it. Seal the jar with wax; it is best to prevent the medicinal vapors from escaping.

Benefits

For brain abscesses, back boils, and various types of carbuncles—in the early stages when alternating chills and fever occur, accompanied by pain in the tendons and bones, resembling a common cold, with nausea and vomiting—but before pus has formed.

Instructions for Use

Whenever encountering a severe, highly toxic ulcer, open the container and remove one pill. First, eat a hearty meal until full; next, rinse your mouth thoroughly with spring water; then take a mouthful of water and let it warm slightly. Chew 5 cun of green onion white with the water until pulpy and swallow it. Immediately place the pill under your tongue, lie down in a warm place, and cover yourself with a blanket. The pill will dissolve into a bitter liquid; swallow it slowly. For severe sores, 2–3 pills may be taken. Once the pill is fully dissolved, profuse sweating will follow, and all ailments will vanish. If it is winter and the cold makes sweating difficult, drinking the green onion decoction after holding the pill in your mouth to induce sweating is also an effective method; this treatment has never failed. For hidden boils that go unnoticed, or those recognized but left untreated, the toxic energy has penetrated deep into the body, causing the patient to become drowsy and collapse upon being struck; they are unable to take the medicine as prescribed. In such cases, urgently use 7 scallion whites with their roots attached, decoct them in one cup of wine, grind 5 pills into a paste, and administer them orally. When the medicinal properties reach the heart, their effect is like hot water poured on snow, and the patient will immediately regain consciousness.
