Qi-Harmonizing Decoction,For cold-induced diseases where the exterior and interior syndromes have not yet resolved, with reversal of the Nutritive and Defensive Qi, cold extremities, and shortness of breath—indicating a Yin syndrome; for cholera with vomiting and diarrhea, or untimely abdominal distension; for the elderly with deficient Nutritive and Defensive Qi, disharmony of the zang-fu organs, urinary urgency, and bi pain in the lower back and legs; and for women suffering from postpartum exhaustion and exposure to cold.

Drug Formulation

Atractylodes macrocephala (soaked in rice wash, finely chopped, oven-dried, lightly roasted) 2 liang; Tiantai Wuyao (finely chopped, lightly roasted) 2 liang; Ginseng 1 liang; Green tangerine peel (white pith removed, roasted) 1 liang; Licorice (roasted, chopped) 1 liang; Angelica dahurica 1 liang; Poria cocos (black skin removed) half a liang.

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Benefits

For cold-induced diseases where the exterior and interior syndromes have not yet resolved, with reversal of the Nutritive and Defensive Qi, cold extremities, and shortness of breath—indicating a Yin syndrome; for cholera with vomiting and diarrhea, or untimely abdominal distension; for the elderly with deficient Nutritive and Defensive Qi, disharmony of the zang-fu organs, urinary urgency, and bi pain in the lower back and legs; and for women suffering from postpartum exhaustion and exposure to cold.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose; add 1 zhan of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, and 2 jujubes; decoct together until reduced to 7 fen; strain and take while warm.
