Drug Formulation

Cimicifuga (Shengma) 6 fen, Forsythia (Lianqiao) 6 fen, Sappanwood (Sumu) 3 fen, Angelica (Danggui) 3 fen, Whole Scorpion (Quanshe) 3 fen, Coptis (Huanglian) 3 fen, Earthworm (Dilong) 3 fen, Astragalus (Huangqi) 3 fen, Raw Scutellaria (Shenghuangqin) 4 fen, Licorice (Gancao) 1.5 qian, Ginseng (Renshen) 2 fen, Raw Rehmannia (Shidi Huang) 4 fen, Peach Kernels (Taoren) 3 pieces, Platycodon (Jiegeng) half a qian, Musk (Shexiang) a small amount,1 fen of Hu Tong Tears, 2 Tsetse Flies (wings and legs removed, lightly roasted), 2 Leeches (roasted until all smoke has dissipated).

Processing

Coarsely chop the ingredients into pieces the size of sesame or soybeans.

Instructions for Use

Except for Forsythia, which should be coarsely chopped, grind Paulownia Tears and 2 fen of white cardamom into a fine powder, and set these two ingredients aside;and set aside the three ingredients—musk, horsefly larvae, and leeches—ground into a fine powder separately. Combine all other ingredients into a single dose: add 2 large bowls of water and 1 spoon of wine, then add the forsythia and decoct until reduced to 1 bowl and 6 fen. Next, add the two white cardamom ingredients along with the three musk-containing ingredients, return to the heat, and boil for 1–2 more times. Strain out the residue and take while still slightly warm after breakfast and before lunch.

Note

Avoid alcohol, wet noodles, and raw, cold, or hard foods.
