Drug Formulation

30 red adzuki beans, 6 zhu of Poria, 4 zhu of melon seed pods, 2 zhu of realgar, half a liang of licorice (roasted), and 4 zhu of Epimedium.

Processing

Chop the ingredients. Boil the adzuki beans and Poria in 3 sheng of water; reduce to 8 he of liquid. Pound the remaining four ingredients into a powder.

Benefits

Indicated for black jaundice, characterized by a black body and black stools, and chronic jaundice.

Instructions for Use

Take half a qian bi per dose, mix with the prepared decoction, and consume while warm or at room temperature. Vomiting will occur shortly thereafter; once vomiting occurs, the condition is cured.

Note

Avoid strong vinegar, seaweed, and Chinese cabbage.
