Drug Formulation

Frankincense (ground separately) 2 liang, Myrrh (ground separately) 2 liang,400 castor seeds, 2 liang 4 qian of wood turtle seeds (shells removed), 4 liang of Angelica sinensis, 5 qian of human hair residue, 1 qian of catechu, 1 qian of dragon’s blood, 1 qian of white beeswax, 1 qian of yellow beeswax, 1 liang of tender willow twigs (crushed), 4 liang of refined yellow lead oxide, 8 liang of genuine sesame oil, 1 jin 4 liang of white, tender rue.

Processing

First, simmer the sesame oil together with the willow twigs, human hair, and Chinese angelica until it comes to a boil several times, then strain out the residue; next, simmer the oil together with the white, tender citrus peel, castor seeds, and Trichosanthes seeds until fully cooked, then strain out the residue; add the yellow and white waxes; when the mixture is nearly set into a paste, add the refined yellow丹; remove from heat; add the powdered human milk, mastic, castor seeds, and dragon’s blood; stir thoroughly to form a paste.
