Drug Formulation
1 fen of Wood Fragrance (chopped), 1 fen of Areca Nut (pounded and sliced), 1 fen of Angelica sinensis (thinly sliced).

Processing
Use 4 liang of clear oil to decoct the above herbs until they turn a scorched yellow color; strain out the mixture and filter it through fresh cotton to remove all residue. Then add 1 liang of yellow丹 to the oil, place it in a cauldron, and re-refine it over alternating low and high heat, stirring constantly with a willow branch chopstick. When the smoke turns white, drip 1–2 drops into a bowl of water; if the mixture can be picked up by hand without sticking, the ointment is ready to be formed into pills, at which point it should be poured out.
