Drug Formulation

1 handful of scallion whites, 1 handful of garlic chives, 1 handful of Schizonepeta spikelets, 1 handful of bamboo shavings, half a sheng of fermented soybeans (skinned), 1 fen of fresh ginger, and 49 Sichuan peppercorns (seeds and closed ends removed, stir-fried until sweaty).

Coarsely crush the ingredients into pieces the size of sesame or mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian bi per dose, add 2 zhan of wine, and decoct until it boils about ten times; strain out the residue. Separately, take 20 qian bi of this same decoction, pour 1 sheng of boiling water over it, and wait until the hands, genitals, and back become warm; then immediately take the previous decoction mixed with wine, cover the body to induce sweating; subsequently, serve scallion and Chinese leek congee; once sweating occurs, the patient will recover.
