350 grains of glutinous rice, 5 croton seeds (use the kernel).

Processing

Wrap the mixture in linen cloth and tie it securely. Take a piece of quicklime the size of a goose egg, pour a bowl of boiling water over it to dissolve it, and use this water to cook the glutinous rice into a rice ball. Remove it, and while still hot, add 1 qian of calomel powder; pound until uniform. Then add the lime water and grind into a paste. Store in a porcelain jar for future use.
