Processing

Except for borneol and musk, grind all the above ingredients into a fine powder. Then, separately grind the borneol and musk into a fine powder, add them to the previous mixture, and grind again. Use toad venom and a small amount of glutinous rice to bind the mixture into pills the size of mustard seeds.

Benefits

For acute and chronic convulsions in children.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose, dissolving it in running water. If the child’s feet twitch, instill the solution into the nostrils; if a sneeze occurs after a while, the condition is cured. If the condition persists, instill it again. If no sneeze occurs after three attempts, this is a bad omen; treat it with another medication. For rashes with inverted lesions, or when black spots appear after the rash has subsided, urgently prepare a mixture: fill half a chicken eggshell with wine and the other half with raw pig’s blood, combining them to make one full shell. Dissolve 2–3 pills of the medicine in this mixture, warm it gently in fire ash, and administer it frequently. On the Double Fifth Festival, prepare the medicine using butter.
