Drug Formulation

1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of prepared rehmannia root, 3 liang of white peony root, 1 liang of poria, 2 qian of cimicifuga, 1 qian of licorice, 1 liang of Chinese yam, 3 qian of northern schisandra, 1 liang of cornelian cherry, and 3 qian of chebulic myrobalan.

Benefits

Diarrhea consisting entirely of blood, the color resembling that of stale, leaking roof water; the anus is wide open and cannot close; the complexion appears unusually rosy, and the lips are as red as if painted with vermilion.

Instructions for Use

Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, the diarrhea is reduced by half; after another dose, it ceases. If, after taking the decoction, the diarrhea persists as before, it indicates that the Yin has been exhausted and the Yang cannot interact with it; there is no need to take it again.
