Drug Formulation

1.5 jin of Beijing-grown summer枯草, 5 qian of Angelica sinensis, 5 qian of white peony root (wine-fried), 5 qian of black ginseng, 5 qian of Evodia, 5 qian of Zhejiang fritillary bulb (core removed), 5 qian of dried silkworm (fried), 3 qian of kelp, 3 qian of platycodon root, 3 qian of tangerine peel, 3 qian of Fuzhou chuanxiong, 3 qian of licorice, 1 liang of cyperus (wine-fried), and 2 qian of safflower.

Processing

Place all the herbs in an earthenware pot, decoct in water to produce a concentrated decoction, strain through a cloth to remove the residue, return the decoction to the pot, and simmer over low heat until thickened. Add 8 liang of red honey, continue simmering until it forms a paste, and store in a porcelain jar.

Instructions for Use

Take 1–2 spoonfuls each time, dissolved in boiling water; it may also be applied as a poultice using thin paper.

Note

Avoid anger and fishy odors.
