Drug Formulation

Luzhishi (ground) 4 liang, Daizhishi (calcined, quenched in vinegar 7 times, ground) 4 liang, Huangdan 4 liang (washed with water), and half a jin of white sand honey.

Processing

First, grind the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder. Next, mix them with the yellow丹. In a copper pot, heat the honey to remove the white scum, then add 5–6 bowls of water and bring to a boil. Add the prepared medicine mixture and simmer over alternating high and low heat. Reduce to 1 bowl, stirring with a copper utensil.Test the consistency by dropping a small amount into water; if it sinks immediately, remove from heat. Once fully prepared, filter through four layers of paper, transfer to a clean porcelain container, and seal tightly to prevent dust from entering, as dust may cause the eyes to become cloudy when applied.
