Drug Formulation

1 liang of cardamom (chopped), 1 liang of white cardamom (chopped), 2 liang of grass cardamom (chopped), 1.5 liang of licorice (chopped), and 7 liang of fresh ginger.

Processing

First, grind 2 liang of fresh ginger into a paste, mix it with the above herbs, and let it sit for about one hour. Then, grind another 2 liang of fresh ginger into a paste as before, mix it with the herbs, and let it sit for another hour. After that, grind 3 liang of fresh ginger into a paste, mix it with the herbs, and while the mixture is still moist, roll it into pills the size of a chicken’s egg, then bake them until dry.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose; crush it immediately, add 1.5 large bowls of water, and decoct until reduced to 1 bowl. Add a pinch of salt, then boil for another 1–2 boils until the liquid is reduced to about 8–9 parts of the original volume. Take while hot; take two doses. Decoct the residue again and take it at any time.
