Drug Formulation
Raw Rehmannia 4 jin, raw Asparagus root 1 jin, raw lotus root 1 jin, fresh ginger half a jin (chop the above four ingredients coarsely and squeeze out the juice using a raw silk bag), Dendrobium (roots removed) 1 liang, deer antler (roasted with butter, hair removed) 1 liang, Cuscuta seed (soaked in wine overnight, pounded into slivers, and dried) 1 liang,Achyranthes root (soaked in wine overnight, then dried in an oven) 1 liang, Astragalus root (chopped) 1 liang, Bupleurum root (stems removed) 1 liang, Lycium bark 1 liang, Ginseng 1 liang, Poria cocos (black skin removed) 1 liang, Cinnamon bark (coarse outer bark removed) 1 liang, Wood Fragrance 1 liang, Aconite root (roasted until cracked, skin and pith removed) 1 liang.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. First, simmer the natural juices of the first four ingredients in a silver or stone vessel until reduced by half. Add one dou of fine wine and simmer until reduced by another half. Add half a jin each of butter and honey and simmer together. Next, add the powdered herbs to the liquid and stir continuously with a willow branch until the mixture reaches a consistency where it clings to the spoon. Transfer to a new porcelain container and seal the opening with wax paper.

Take 1 spoonful daily on an empty stomach, mixed with warm wine.
