Processing

Take 3 liang of tung oil and simmer until it turns yellow; strain out the residue. Simmer the oil again until it is slightly thickened, then add one piece of fine white pine resin and simmer over low heat, stirring frequently with a willow branch to ensure even mixing. Next, add 7 qian each of frankincense, myrrh, and cinnabar; bring to a boil several times. Just before removing from the heat, place a small piece of cotton on the cloth used to strain the herbal residue and filter the mixture through it;First, fill a clay bowl to 8-fen capacity with clean water. Strain the medicine into the water in the bowl, then remove it from the water. Stretch it out like a sheet 200–300 times; the more it is stretched, the whiter it becomes, hence the name “White Medicine.” Keep it constantly soaked in clean water, pour it onto a cool surface, cover it with a cloth to prevent dust from entering, and change the water every 5–7 days.

Benefits

Injuries caused by knives, axes, or other metal blades.

Instructions for Use

For all wounds caused by knives, axes, or other metal objects, select a piece of the ointment appropriate to the size of the wound and pack it into the wound cavity. Cover it with white paper; the pain will subside immediately. Change the dressing once a day; new flesh will form in 5 days. For contusions, simply apply the ointment to oiled paper and affix it to the affected area—it will heal immediately without the need for bone-setting or tendon-reattaching agents.
