White Gold Pill

White Gold Pill,Effective for all types of wind disorders, hemiplegia with an uncontrollable mouth, and hemiplegia.

Formulas Name : White Gold Pill

Chinese Name : 白金丹

Drug Formulation

3 liang of cinnabar (ground separately into a fine powder), 1.5 liang of orpiment, and 1 liang of sulfur.

Source

*Shenghui* (Volume 95).

Processing

Grind the two “huang” ingredients together into a fine powder. First, melt them in a cauldron until they form a liquid; then add the cinnabar powder and stir until uniform. Immediately begin boiling the mixture in mulberry ash juice for three days and three nights, replenishing the ash juice with warm ash as needed. When the three days are complete, scrape the mixture into a crucible and dry it over low heat until all Yin energy is eliminated. Seal it tightly and calcine it over a fire of 10 jin; stop when the mass has reduced to 2–3 jin.The medicine is found only at the bottom of the crucible. Form it into a single slab, chisel it into a shape resembling white gold, and boil it in water with licorice and amla in a porcelain vessel for one day to remove the fire toxicity. Grind it into a powder, then mix it with millet rice to form pills the size of mung beans.
