Formulas Name : Wind-Dispelling Ointment

Chinese Name : 败风膏

Drug Formulation

Bai Ji half liang, Bai Lian half liang, Bai Fan 1 liang, Jian Cao 1.5 liang (thoroughly washed and finely chopped), Wu Zhu Yu 1 fen, mercury the size of a pea, and a small amount of musk.

Grind the ingredients into a powder.

Used for sores caused by wind-toxin attacking the internal organs, as well as red, itchy rashes caused by the flow of heat-toxin.

Instructions for Use

First, place half a zhan of oil in a porcelain bowl and simmer over low heat until it boils. Then add 1 fen of beeswax and simmer together for 3–5 boils. Set aside to cool, then add the aforementioned unblended herbs; the mixture will naturally form a paste. For sores, wash the affected area with salt water, then apply the paste to the sore.
