Drug Formulation

6 he of glutinous rice, 6 he of millet, 6 he of sesame seeds, 6 he of barley, 6 he of small black beans (the above constitute the “Five Grains”); 6 liang of longan flesh, 6 liang of red date flesh, 6 liang of ginkgo nut flesh, 6 liang of walnut meat, 6 liang of lotus seed (peeled and pitted) (the above constitute the “Five Fruits”); 6 liang of pine nut kernels, 6 liang of cypress seed kernels, 6 liang of apricot kernels,6 liang of euryale seed kernels, 6 liang of coix seed kernels (the above are the “Five Seeds”), 6 liang of goji berries, 6 liang of holly berries, 6 liang of dodder seeds, 6 liang of raspberries,6 liang of Tribulus fruit (genuine, authentic variety) (the above constitute the “Five Seeds”), 6 liang of Morinda root (the essence of Heaven), 6 liang of Chrysanthemum (the essence of the Sun), 6 liang of Polygonum multiflorum (the essence of the Mountain), 6 liang of Cinnamomum cassia bark (the essence of Grass), and 6 liang of Mulberry fruit (the essence of Wood) (the above constitute the “Five Essences”), 40 jin of white rice wine, and 24 jin of high-quality distilled spirits.

Processing

First, steam the five grains until cooked, then spread them out to cool; remove the clean flesh from the five fruits and five nuts; place the five seeds and five essences together in a porcelain jar, seal the opening tightly, and simmer in a double boiler for three sticks of incense. Remove, allow to cool completely, then open the jar. Combine all the ingredients as described above, steep in distilled spirits for 21 days, then transfer to the white wine mixture and store for 49 days.
