Instructions for Use

Rub the soapberry into the wine until a concentrated juice is extracted; bring it to a rapid boil once, strain it while still warm, and administer it. It will immediately break through the obstruction, causing the patient to vomit water and bloody phlegm. If the mouth is clenched shut and swallowing is impossible, rub the soapberry with sesame oil to extract the juice and administer it orally.
