Processing
Place the lead in a ladle and melt it over a fire; add 49 apricot kernels and roast until charred; remove the kernels; add a small amount of sulfur to the molten lead; stir with a locust branch; wait until the sulfur smoke has completely dissipated; add another small amount of sulfur and stir and roast as before, continuing until a total of 3 liang of sulfur has been used; wait again until the sulfur smoke has completely dissipated, at which point the lead will have turned to ash.

For toxic sores caused by syphilis, accompanied by pain in the tendons and bones that is worse at night and milder during the day, with a preference for warmth and manual massage.
Instructions for Use
Take 2 qian of lead ash and mix it evenly with 2 qian of ground dried ginger. Use one large jug of yellow wine, add 5–7 scallions, and simmer until the scallions are soft. Strain the wine, mix it with the medicine, and drink it, then drink as much of the wine as possible. This induces warmth and sweating; once the aroma has completely dissipated, the toxic powder will be expelled with the sweat, and the pain will cease immediately. If not fully cured, take another dose after three days.
Note
Avoid exposure to wind and cold.
