Drug Formulation

Artemisia capillaris 4 liang, Rheum palmatum 5 liang, fermented soybean cores 5 he (stir-fried until fragrant), Hengshan 3 liang, peach kernels 3 liang (stir-fried), sodium silicate 3 liang, apricot kernels 3 liang (skin and tips removed), softshell turtle shell 2 liang (coated with wine and vinegar and roasted), croton seed 1 liang (skin and membrane removed, oil removed, stir-fried, and ground separately).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Within the first 3 days of onset, take 5 pills in the morning; this may induce diarrhea, vomiting, or sweating. If no effect occurs, add 1 more pill. If no response is felt after a prolonged period, take it with hot water to induce the effect; adjust the dosage for the elderly and children as appropriate. Take one dose in early spring to remain free of illness for one year. Store in a bottle sealed with wax and keep in a dry place.
