Drug Formulation

4 liang sesame oil, 1.5 liang candle oil, 1.5 liang beeswax, 3 liang roasted lead powder, 5 qian mercury oxide, 5 qian frankincense, 5 qian asafoetida, 5 qian white wax, 5 qian myrrh, 6 qian catechu, 5 qian realgar, 5 qian dragon bone, 5 qian pearl.

Processing

First, simmer the sesame oil, candle oil, and yellow wax until the mixture is so thick that a drop of water will not disperse. Add the roasted lead powder, mercury oxide, frankincense, asafoetida, white wax, myrrh, catechu, realgar, dragon bone, and pearl, and stir until well blended. Remove from heat, then add 5 qian of musk. The ointment is now ready for use.
