Taking black plum (Wu-mei) as the leading herb, the formula draws on its sour, astringent flavor and neutral property: it enters the Liver, Spleen, Lung, Large Intestine meridians and works to astringe the lung, check diarrhea, generate fluids and relieve pain. Wood Fragrance (Mu-xiang) fills the deputy position.
