Drug Formulation
1 liang of Coptis, 1 liang of Phellodendron, 5 qian of Rhubarb, 5 qian of Ephedra, 5 qian of Ligusticum, 5 qian of Angelica dahurica, 5 qian of Scutellaria, 5 qian of Saposhnikovia, 5 qian of Gentiana, 1.5 qian of Asarum, 1.5 qian of Eupatorium, 1.5 qian of Borneol, 1.5 qian of Angelica sinensis, 1.5 qian of Forsythia,Qianghuo 1 qian and a half, Jingjie 1 qian and a half, Muzhi 1 qian and a half, Zhizi 3 qian, Bai Ju Hua 3 qian, Shidi Huang 3 qian, Chishao 3 qian, Kushen 3 qian, Cangzhu (one formula includes Jibai tree root in any amount). Wash the above herbs thoroughly with well water, chop them into small pieces, and soak them in well water in a copper vessel—3 days in spring, 2 days in summer, 4 days in autumn,5 days in winter. Dry in the sun, frequently stirring to release the medicinal aroma and extract the medicinal properties. Filter through refined silk to separate the clear liquid, reserving one bowl of clear liquid for refining the medicine and three bowls of turbid liquid for quenching the medicine. Then take a molten copper pot, fill it with one jin of crushed glycyrrhiza, cover it with a new tile,seal it tightly with pine charcoal, and burn it until it turns a deep red; then remove it with tongs. Shortly thereafter, quench it in the medicinal liquid three times. Next, use the reserved clear liquid to refine the powder until only a few thousand grains remain; clarify it by removing the turbidity, dry it in the sun until it is completely silent, sift it through fine silk multiple times, and store it in porcelain for future use. 1 qian of calamine, 3 li of musk, and 1 fen of camphor.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; then add camphor (Shiyu??) that is fresh and tender, sift through a piece of soft, washed silk, and store in a porcelain container for future use.

Instructions for Use
Apply to the eyes; if there is a corneal opacity, combine with Yin Dan, Yi Jiu, Er Ba, San Qi, or Si Liu.
