Commentary
Goji berries (Gou-qi-zi) assume the leading (chief) role; neutral and sweet in character, it channels into the Liver, Kidney meridians, working chiefly to nourish the liver and kidney, brighten the eyes. Lily bulbs (Bai-he) stand in the deputy (minister) seat; slightly cold and sweet in character, it travels through the Lung, Heart meridians to nourish yin, moisten the lung and calm the spirit. Eggs (Ji-dan) add further support, working to nourish yin, moisten dryness and tonify the body.
