Achyranthes

Achyranthes is a herb used to promote blood circulation and regulate menstruation. It consists of the roots of Achyranthes bidentata BI. (Huai Achyranthes) from the genus Achyranthes in the Amaranthaceae family, and Cyathula officinalis Kuan (Sweet Achyranthes) from the genus Cyathula (Cup Amaranth). It has the effects of removing blood stasis and unblocking the meridians, tonifying the liver and kidneys, strengthening tendons and bones, promoting urination and relieving dysuria, and directing blood downward.It is primarily used to treat amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, soreness in the lower back and knees, weakness of tendons and bones, urinary disorders, edema, headaches, dizziness, toothaches, mouth ulcers, hemoptysis, and epistaxis.
