Drug Formulation
1 liang of white alum (raw, finely ground), half a liang of whole scorpion.

Processing
Grind the alum into a fine powder. Take a small earthenware pot; wrap the scorpion in ephedra leaves and secure it with string. Divide the alum into two portions, placing half at the bottom and half on top, with the whole scorpion in the center. Cover securely with a tile fragment. Seal the pot with salt mud and allow it to dry. Use 2 jin of charcoal to calcine the contents until they reduce to 1 jin, then remove and grind into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use
Take 1 qian per dose, add a small amount of musk, and include one wild boar cheek, sliced and mixed with the medicine. Wrap the mixture in 5–7 layers of damp paper, then bake over a fire until cooked. Remove and chew thoroughly before bedtime, swallowing with saliva.
