Formulas Name : Asafoetida Qi-Regulating Pills
Chinese Name : 阿魏撞气丸
Drug Formulation
1 liang of fennel, 1 liang of green tangerine peel, 1 liang of licorice, 1 liang of aged tangerine peel, 1 liang of curcuma, 1 liang of Sichuan lovage, 4 liang of fresh ginger (soaked overnight in 5 qian of salt), 5 qian of black pepper, 5 qian of white angelica, 5 qian of cinnamon bark, 5 qian of cardamom, and 5 qian of clove bark (roasted).

Processing
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Take one qian and a half of asafoetida, mix it with a flour paste to form pills the size of a water caltrop. For every one jin of the mixture, use seven qian of cinnabar as a coating.

Effective for five types of dysphagia, nine types of chest pain, abdominal masses and lumps, piercing cold pain, abdominal pain and intestinal rumbling, vomiting of sour fluid, hernias in men, and blood and qi disorders in women.
Instructions for Use
Take 3–5 pills per dose; for men with qi-related pain, take with a decoction of stir-fried ginger and salt; for women with blood-qi pain, take with vinegar decoction.
