Benefits

Chronic Malaria.

Instructions for Use

Place the above herbs in a copper vessel with 3 sheng of water and leave them to soak in a high, clean place under the stars and moonlight, with a knife laid across the top. At dawn, retrieve the herbs and, beside the patient’s bed, simmer them over low heat to reduce the liquid to 1.5 sheng. Divide this into three doses to be taken warm: one dose at daybreak, one dose a few hours before the attack begins, and one dose just as the attack begins. After taking all three doses, lie down in a quiet room, covered and kept warm. Do not bathe for one day, and apply the decoction to the palms, soles, chest, and face; place the residue beside the pillow so the patient can smell the medicinal odor. If no attack occurs by the end of the day, then bathe and resume eating.
