(??) Bamboo roots (sliced) 5 sheng, raw mao root (sliced) 5 sheng, reed root (sliced) 5 sheng, smilax root (sliced) 2 sheng, gypsum 1 jin (crushed with a pestle), black plums 30, ginger (sliced) 1 sheng, wheat 3 sheng, bamboo sap 2 sheng, white honey 1 sheng.

Instructions for Use

Boil 5 dou of water down to 1 dou, strain out the residue, add bamboo sap and honey, and store in a non-porous bottle. Take this with the 14-Ingredient Astragalus Pills. Even if the pills are not taken, drink this immediately upon feeling a dry mouth or thirst. During hot months, prepare a fresh batch daily as needed; preparing too much at once may cause it to spoil.
