Drug Formulation

Myrrh (ground) 1 qian, Wulingzhi (ground) half liang, Soapberry (unworm-eaten, peel and seeds removed, roasted with butter, ground into powder) 3 qian, White Clove (male, ground) 1.5 qian, Realgar (ground) 1.5 qian, Frankincense (ground) 1.5 qian, Croton seeds 10 (peel and inner membrane removed, not to release oil, thoroughly ground).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 10 jujubes (pitted), scrape the Croton seed paste into the jujubes, wrap them with thread, and roast them over low heat until cooked. Remove the thread, mash them into a paste, mix thoroughly with the aforementioned powdered medicine, and knead into pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Adults with excess in the viscera take 5 pills; those with deficiency take 3 pills. For children, the pills should be the size of a mustard seed: 3 pills for one-year-olds, 7 pills for those aged 5–7 and older, and 10 pills for those aged 10 and older. To disperse stagnation, take with a concentrated decoction of roasted soapberry seeds, cooled and taken as a wash; to relieve chest congestion, take 1 date, chewed until soft, wrapped around the medicine, and swallowed whole without chewing the medicine itself. Take before bedtime; for acute conditions, take as needed regardless of the time.
